The Little Blue Church was constructed in 1845 and is an Anglican Church near Prescott, Ontario. It has a non-denominational cemetery that surrounds it. William and Edward Miller, both immigrants from Kent England, and several of their descendants are buried here.
Edward and Amelia Miller have grave markers of simple flat slabs of stone. Each is adorned with a weeping willow tree. The symbol is associated with sadness. If someone is able to read the inscriptions, please comment as I would love to know what they say. Edward and Amelia are the parents of John Smith Miller, who is also buried at the Little Blue Church.
This is the gravestone of Kitty Miller, the wife of William Miller. William was Edward Miller's (above) brother.
This is the headstone for John Miller, the son of William and Kitty Miller.
This is the headstone for Captain William Miller, the brother of Edward Miller and husband of Kitty Miller. The headstone is simple and adorned with an anchor. William was a steamship captain.
Another side of the monument is inscribed with the names of Louise Miller White, the wife of James B. White and Gertrude Miller Payne, the wife of Charles A. Payne. It is assumed that their husbands are also buried in the cemetery but inscriptions and headstones for them were not found at this time.
Special thanks to Charlie Tobin for his pictures of the Little Blue Church and to Lisa Modugno for her photos of the Miller memorials.
